Excellent restaurant for a stop along the hike and quick bites. It has splendid views over the lake. Food is authentic and very good. The amenities are modern.

Is ideally located on the edge of the lake, s, with boat casual. Meeting point for hikers and cyclists. Delicious food and cool drinks on offer. Large sunbathing areas with benches and loungers. There is a charging station for e-bikes.

Despite the large number of guests, self-service came quickly. Very tasty Maultaschen! Coffee good. Inexpensive. Architecture, new and old, skilfully mixed. Very, very many seats outside with a view of the lake

The Vesperstube Unterkrummenhof is advertised on all sides with signposts from a great distance. The Vesperstube also appears in many cycling and hiking guides. Anyone who, because of the name, is hoping for a cozy and hearty restaurant with friendly hospitality in traditional costumes and good-humored, laughing and happy guests, is far wrong. Hearty southern German home cooking? Only roughly. You can expect mass processing on the assembly line, 100% self-service, staff just waiting for the end of the day and disappointed faces of the guests who are in line or looking for a free seat. But I want to be fair. If you put aside the expectations and compare the location with other tourist hotspots on a self-service basis, you get a clean gastronomy, decent common dishes at a reasonable price and a wonderful view. Apart from that, we're talking about the only gastronomy in the area within a radius of 8km. The name "Vesperstube Unterkrummenhof" is unfortunately misleading and not applicable. For cyclists or hikers who make their way on the wonderful Schluchsee I recommend a stop to enjoy the view and to fortify themselves with food and drink.

The booth right next to the bike has really good sausages. I really had to pull myself out not to eat a second 👍😀

The location is fantastic. Unfortunately, you can only pay with cash. Not only in Corona times, but also in our age, that's not possible in my opinion. For this reason, we couldn't drink a pleasant beer there and had to do it elsewhere, a shame.

Very nice location. Ideal for an extended rest. Also for children - play facilities available. Self-service is quick. The food is good and priced ok. However, very crowded at certain times.

Unfortunately, it was very crowded and some distances had to be adhered to. The seating was only partially overshadowed, tables were not cleaned and the room for serving / ordering food was poorly ventilated. Our tarte flambée was very tasty and the team seemed young and motivated. Perhaps an outdoor barbecue grill would be an alternative to cope better with the rush of hikers, cyclists and day trippers?

Great ambience with potential. Food was great in today's world with Corona, there is still a lot of catching up to do. In my opinion, it is not enough to just set up barrier tapes and hand disinfection; it also includes taking care of the guest room and cleaning the tables and chairs there from time to time. In the 50 minutes we were there, I didn't see any of the staff. Too bad......

Beautiful old farm house transformed into modern restaurant. Best view of the lake from the hill. Nice stop during the walk around the lake Schluchsee. food is fine but expect not traditional Black Forest cuisine

No one cleans tables no one. I talked to the cashier, she sent me to the kitchen. Kitchen guy gave me a wet cloth. It was better than esting in someone elses filth. Save your money pack a lunch.

Ideally located refreshments with small defects. Card payment not possible. Prices for the little pieces of cake too high. Tables are not wiped (probably because of the self-service concept). Toilets dirty. Otherwise it was a nice stay. I think the pictures in the room, with a regional (modern) reference, are very well chosen.

Food was outstanding. Collateral was kept. Only cash payments possible. Nice area only accessible on foot or by bike.

A nice place for a quick stop when hiking, biking or just passing by. The food is nice, prices are okay and service is good. The staff speaks English which is always a plus. Toilets are clean and there is plenty of room outside with a nice view on the lake.

If you have a seat (which we did) it's ok. But it is just to small for the massive amounts of persons that are fighting for a place. Food is reasonable.

Very nice courtyard in the midst of beautiful nature. It can be used as a resting point of a Schluchseeumerundung, or comfortably start with the ship. Everything is very well maintained and has style. Good selection of food and drinks in self service. Everything looks very inviting, and you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely amazing location. However, the service was probably the most unfriendly service we have experienced during our whole trip (a rather young blond girl who took our orders). She was very obviously annoyed, rolled her eyes twice about something we said.. When I asked if they have water without gas she was again very obviously annoyed and just said "No". We were all very shocked by having been treated like this without any reason and we decided to never go back to the place. We also discussed it with the people at the neighbouring table, who had similar experiences. It is a pity, as the restaurant has an amazing location!

Nice location at the Schluchsee, good cakes and decent coffee. You should know that there is no warm food past 5pm.

Black Forest Style Tip top in allem

Nicely located along the hiking route around Schluchsee. It'll get cramped in summer, and staff will get kind of rushed and rude, but that's to be expected. As are the steep prices for OK food. All in all, it's OK to stop here. Nothing too fancy, nothing to write home about, except for the amazing views and relaxing time in the sun, if you can manage to get a table.

Great stop for lunch during a hike around the lake. The traditional Hausmachervesper with a selection of meats, cheeses, and vegetables was excellent, especially when paired with the Bratkartoffeln (fried potatoes) and fresh bread. Finished the meal with a cappuccino and meringue-frosted rhubarb pie, both lightly dusted with cocoa and exceptionally lecker! Plenty of seating outside with a beautiful view of the Schluchsee, a light breeze off the water, and some friendly goats browsing the adjacent meadow. Take the opportunity to enjoy the surroundings and perhaps some local beer while waiting for your food to arrive.
